FOCUS International - Honduras Ministry
About Our Ministries in Honduras
"Wings of Faith" Christian Radio Ministry
The Lord has blessed us with an awesome radio
ministry that reaches thousands with the Gospel of
Christ every day.  Our radio signal reaches remote
mountain villages that are accessible only on foot or
horseback.  Many who live in these villages have
come to Christ and listen to our station every day.
House of Praise Recording Studio
Our small studio gives us the opportunity to
produce some of our own radio programs and
also to help many Christian Praise and Worship
leaders to record absolutely free of charge their
records, radio programs, and testimonies.  We
have been blessed to work with many ministries
from all over Latin America who in turn bless our
ministry with their prayers and music for the Radio
Station.
"Bread of Life" Program for Malnourished Chidren
"A hungry stomach has no ears" (African Proverb).
Honduras is one of the poorest countries in the
Western Hemisphere.  Each weekday we work with
the poorest of the poor children of Guaimaca.  Over
120 children hear the Gospel of Christ and receive a
hot nutritious meal, vitamins, a glass of milk, and see
the love of Jesus in action.  Our program is very
efficient and cost effective.  We feed each child for a
week for $1.05  That's right, one dollar and five cents
a week.  We are able to do this because we have
several of the children's mothers who gladly volunteer
each day to help cook, clean and wash dishes.  Our
vitamins have been collected by children at their
Vacation Bible School and by Royal Ambassadors,
and many of our staple items have been donated by
some generous and sweet brothers and sisters from
Tennessee.  Many of the young people in our Youth
Group at FBC Guaimaca first heard the Gospel in the
feeding program.
July 21, 1996
Mike and Suzie, Bear and
Summer Felcyn go to the
foreign mission field in
Honduras, Central America to
spread the Gospel in one of
the poorest countries in
Central America.  We spent the
first 9 months in daily Spanish
Language study and helping
other missionaries with their
ministries.
Proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ in Honduras Central America
Evangelism, Discipleship, and Church Planting
As we waited patiently for our license to operate the
radio station (it's not easy for a foreigner to get
permission to operate a radio station, but we "can do
all things in Christ who strengthens us") we worked
in the small mountain village of Guaslaca, preaching
the Gospel and planting the seeds of faith is Jesus
Christ.  We started a small church there with one
Christian in the whole village.  Now the whole village
is active in the church except for one family.

We also have a church (First Baptist Church of
Guaimaca) which we sort of inherited from
Missionary Herb Prince who has spent close to 30
years serving the Lord here in Honduras and has
moved his Pastor Training Institute to another part of
Honduras.

Mike pastors both churches with the help of our native
Honduran missionaries who share preaching
responsibilities with him.
Please join us in prayer...
  • That the Lord will always lead us and guide
us in HIS perfect ways, that we might do His
    work and HIS will.
  • That the Lord will provide for the monthly
needs of the mission in Honduras. We have
five missionary families working full-time to
    spread the Gospel in Honduras.
  • That the Lord would help each of us
missionaries to always be pleasing HIM and
to preach the Gospel with authority and purity.
  • That the Lord will bless those who are
partners in the spread of the Gospel.  We can't
all give financially, we can't all go to the foreign
mission field, but we can all get there on our
    knees.  We covet your prayers!
Please PRAY, PRAY, PRAY...
April 1997
We moved onto the mission
grounds of the Arms of Love
Orphanage a home for 18
children,  and started a home
church in Guaimaca and
helped the missionaries in
charge of the orphanage with
the care of the children so they
could have a day off every
week.  For three years we took
care of the children for a
month during the summer so
that the missionaries in
charge could visit their family
in the US.
We started a weekly Bible
Study and Worship Service in
Barrio Arriba in Guaimaca.
Many from the neighboring
homes came to Christ.
May 1997
August 1997
We purchased the mission
property here in the town of
Guaimaca, built what was the
first radio station studio (now a
recording studio), produced a
weekly Christian Cable TV
Show, did lots of preaching,
teaching and evangelism in
many different forms.  Still
praying all the while for our
paperwork for the Radio
Station to be approved.
We moved into the actual town
of Guaimaca, to live with the
people we are serving.  We
also managed several relief
projects for those most
affected by Hurricane "Mitch."
We spent the next two years,
helping various missionaries,
doing street preaching and
puppet shows and praying that
God would open the doors for
our dream to have a Christian
Radio Station to reach people
in the areas more remote
villages.  In 1998 we also got
our first car here, before that it
was all "chicken buses" and
hitchhiking.
We started a house church in
the mountain village of
Guaslaca which eventually
became the First Baptist
Church of Guaslaca.
February 2000
October 1998
2001 to 2003
Made improvements to the
FOCUS International mission
home, took on the
responsibility of managing the
"Bread of Life" feeding
program and pastoring the
First Baptist Church of
Guaimaca as missionaries
Herb and Joan Prince who
previously ran the program
moved their Bible Institute to
another part of Honduras.
July 15, 2003 to present
We finally got the radio station
license and started
transmissions on July 15th,
2003 as HRIG 97.7 FM Wings
of Faith Radio.  We're still on
the air every day from 5am to
11pm preaching the good
news of Jesus Christ.
