"Bread of Life" Program For Malnourished Children
Sharing the Gospel and the Love of Jesus
Each weekday 120+ kids gather at our church in
Guaimaca, Honduras to hear a gospel message,
sing songs, and eat a hot, nutritious meal, along with
vitamins and milk.
Kids usually enter the program in very bad shape,
often suffering from the typical signs of malnutrition
like thin hair, loose teeth, bleeding gums, weak and
very skinny, drawn faces, with sometimes irreversible
damage to their intelligence. We try not to put any
pictures on our website that would embarrass or
humiliate a child or their parents. We all know what
hungry starving kids look like.
The kids are so precious to the LORD and to all of us
too. It's impossible not to fall in love with them all.
In addition to feeding them spiritually and physically,
we also send them all to school. Every year, each of
the kids gets a brand new pair of school shoes and
school uniform and school supplies so that they can
at least have a chance to break the cycle of poverty by
receiving an education too. Most of their parents don't
read or write, and many of the children are the first
ones in their families to ever go to school and learn to
read.

What does it cost to feed a child?
$1.05 (US Dollars) per week per child. Our "Bread of
Life" program is very efficient and cost effective
because many of the children's mothers volunteer to
help cook and clean, and wash dishes. Our monthly
budget is $500. Thank you so very much for your
prayers and support for the feeding program and
annual school supply project.
We also are blessed to have many Christian brothers
and sisters from the U.S. who are wonderful
supporters of another Mission (Emanuel Orphanage)
here in Guaimaca. As they send containers regularly
to help supply the orphanage which has over 500
children, they are so big hearted that for years they
have also sent us rice, macaroni, spaghetti sauce
and other staple items which help to keep our costs
so low. Please pray the Lord's blessings on them for
showing such kindness, as every item that is sent for
our program takes up precious space for food that
they desperately need to feed their kids too.
Amazingly, It costs us only about $25 (U.S. Dollars) to
send one child to school with their uniform and
